Redleaf Press Book's
Review & Giveaway
Ends Tuesday 12/1 at 11:59pm

I recently had the opportunity to Review 7 wonderful books provided by Redleaf Press. The books had a wealth of information on Early Childhood Education, Activities to do with your little ones as well as Parenting advice. As a new mom who wants the best for her son, I really appreciate a great book with ideas on how I can enrich my child's life through activities and play. I also liked that MOST of the idea's in these books require little money to achieve. You can fulfill most of the numerous ideas that these books provide with items you have around your house, or scenery in your own neighborhood! These books were written with a teacher or day care worker in mind, However, I feel like these are books every mom could benefit from!

If you are an educator or a Daycare worker, you will especially love what these books have to offer. Grandparents, you will also love being able to have new fresh ideas to do with the grand kids when they come and visit!

Who knew a walk in the park could be educational, fun and full of learning opportunities. This book takes simple daily tasks and turns them into learning experiences.

This book has so many education activities to do with your child, and the best part is that you can find them by reusing many items you already have. I love an idea in the book about making a bird feeder out of a plastic 2 liter bottle!

Great book for an Educator or Day Care owner to help improve the environmental quality of your child care area.

Learn creative ways to promote healthy eating in your home or classroom! My son is already a picky eater and I foresee this book becoming a great asset to my family!

Make Your Own Playdough, Paint, and Other Craft Materials: Easy Recipes to Use with Young Children Author: Patricia Caskey
Fun craft ideas with materials that you probably already have in your kitchen. I loved that the book listed the suitable age groups for each craft.

Who knew there was a use for plastic milk bottle caps? This book will allow you to stretch your imagination to find truly unique ideas to promote learning through fun!

Do-It-Yourself Early Learning: Easy and Fun Activities from Everyday Home Center Materials Authors: Jeff A. Johnson, Tasha A. Johnson

This book goes into the idea that in today's culture, parents are pushing their children to play with over stimulating, media-hyped toys that will know you off your feet! This book has jammed pack ideas for making your own home made t
oys with simple materials that most of us already own!

The point that, "young children frequently agree to rules but have no idea how to follow them" really hit home for me. It made me remember how as a child I would often agree to clean a mess and then look at my messy room and have no idea how to begin. And how one time I made a deal with a bossy friend of mine without even thinking about my end of the bargain. Thanks for making me remember what that feeling is like! :) At least now I'll have some sympathy for my son when he doesn't remember that promise he made or can't figure out how to do something he was told to do.

It's fascinating to see how much the preschool children can get involved in the program, from planting to investigating to cooking the veggies!

I chose Make Your Own Playdough, Paint, and Other Craft Materials: Easy Recipes to Use with Young Children. This looks like a really fun book. I thought the ceramic dough was the most interesting recipe as it's made so children can really sculpt with it.

One book contains over 100 recipes for making your own craft supplies for your kids & then it also gives you crafty projects to use them. This book sounds really cool. Not only can you do crafts with your kids, but they can help make their own supplies. Truly gives new meaning to the whole "I made it myself" common crafting term huh?:-D
Awesome! I hope I win, this book alone sounds wonderful!
