I was recently given the opportunity to review 4 children's books from Pretty Please Press. Pretty Please Press is a small publisher with a BIG imagination. Their children's books are designed to be read aloud and talked about afterwards.My Review:
I enjoy reading books to my 18 month old before his afternoon nap and before his bed time (it's the only time he is sitting still). My son loves books with interesting illustrations that catch his attention. The Book Pynx was his favorite, it was a fun read that focused on these colorful, bright Alien like creatures. The best part about all four of the books is that they have an underlining teachable message that you can discuss with the child. The messages in each book will help any child learn about problem solving, and being the best little person that they can be. I believe these books will be a great addition to my sons bookshelf that will grow with him for years to come.
The Teachable Messages in each Book:
Pynx (My Sons Favorite!) Written and illustrated by Jeffrey Greene.
This is a story about being tolerant, learning to appreciate differences, and about finding ways to communicate.
The Scritchy Little Twitchell Sisters. By Laura Aimee Garn, Illustrated by Erik Brooks The Twitchell Sisters demonstrate that someday the fights may yield to understanding and appreciation.
This story shows that patience and practice are important when we are approaching a new challenge.
