I love sharing new books with my 18 month old son, and I am delighted to have The Snowman's Song be his first Christmas themed book.The Snowman's Song is a wonderful hardcover book with an inspirational message and beautiful illustrations that bring the story alive as you read. The book also comes with an audio CD of the story that brings the story alive. The CD would most certainly entertain your little ones and would be great to play in the car as you are driving to your loved one's homes for the holidays.
In The Snowman's Song a little snowman hopes and prays for a beautiful singing voice so he can sing Christmas Carols just like human children do. There is little hope that he will ever be able to sing, but a Christmas miracle happened, leaving a happy and magical ending.
The Snowman's Song will be a special addition to your child's bookshelf that Encourages your child to find and value his or her own unique identity and helps your child discover that kindness is the golden core of Christmas as well as understanding life lessons such as empathy.

This year it is a little difficult for me to make Christmas special for my family due to health problems. I will be having 2 surgeries during the next month and will not be able to travel to see my daughter and grandson. I am sorry to say that she refuses to come to visit me. I am having to do my shopping online but am still really trying to choose the perfect gift for each person.

We play & sing Christmas carols as we decorate the tree, we bake lots of goodies for teachers & dh's coworkers, & we have lots of concerts & sometimes plays or dance recitals we participate in. Every Christmas Eve we read the first 2 chapters of Luke.

Christmas eve I would let my kids open ONE gift,but I would select it. It was always new jammies so they'd look nice for pics on Christmas morning! They didn;t mind, they were just happy to be able to open something early!

This will be our first christmas with a baby, so we are starting traditions. This will be the first year my husband and I (and our son) will spend Christmas morning alone together. We make Christmas special because we donate to the food pantry. We make a costume for our dog and then we do the Jingle Bell dog walk to raise money for our local animal shelter. We love getting together with everyone and play games too.

We have a few tradtions. We own the Elf on the Shelf and he hides in a new spot every day after reporting to Santa the days events, we cut down our tree and decorate it together, we also go to an event called Santa's Landing where Santa and his reindeer come for all to talk to take pix with etc.

I try to make Christmas special by keeping the traditions the same from year to year: putting up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving evening and decorating it, then sitting down to watch Miracle on 34th street. I also bake the holiday cookies and bars that their Grandmother used to bake every year.

Christmas is definitely our family's favorite time of year. We have a tradition of "surprise" stocking gifts the week or two before Christmas. But our favorite is just seeing our extended family.

WE try to do lots of the festive type activities like looking at lights, playing in the snow. . .
