So you have read my posts about making a little extra money at home through companies like Swagbucks, Textbroker and Mystery Shopping. But did you know that you can also do numerous phone jobs from home? Many companies are closing down their call centers and hiring employees to work from their home, it is cost effective and makes for happier employees. The benefit to us is that we can work in our pajamas, avoid rush hour traffic and avoid office politics.

Work at Home Phone jobs can be a great way to earn extra money each month, or working full time like you would any other job! Phone jobs are very appealing to moms with school aged children because they can set their schedule for one they are in school and is great for those that want to make a little extra money on the weekends by working a few hours (thats were Grandma comes in handy for babysitting).

Below is a list of several well known Work at Home Phone Companies. How many of these companies work is; you apply, if accepted you get a background check, you will then be assigned to work for a client (you usually do not get to pick), and then you start training(in your home). Depending on the client you work for, your pay can be commission based, some have hourly rates. Some pay $7.50 per hour others pay $14.50. You really don't know until you apply.

West at Home has major clients like HSN, Toys r Us, and Live Nation. Flexible Work hours. Can take 2 or more months to hear back after applying.

LiveOps also has major clients. You have to pay $50 for background check if hired.

Arise has large clients such as Staple, Apple, ect. You may have to pay for a background check.

Alpine Access only hires in certain locations. You have to pay $45 for background check if hired.

Cloud 10 also contracts with major companies that we are all familiar with. Set schedules.

1-800-Flowers hires seasonally and only hires in certain states.

Other questions you may want to research regarding the above companies: What do they pay? How often do they pay? Do they require a land line? Are you on a set schedule or is it flexible? What are the computer requirements? Do I need to buy a head set?

Word of caution for parents with loud kids: Loud background noise is NOT tolerated in these jobs. Try to pick a schedule when the children are in school, being babysat, or when they are sleeping. I doubt there is a noise canceling head set out there good enough to block out a terrible twos tantrum (plus you need to be watching your kids anyways!!).
