Seventh Generation Detergent Giveaway!

By Saving Moms Money - Melissa on 1/27/2011 03:40:00 PM ,
Us moms try our best to protect out children from everyday dangers and chemicals, from wearing a bike helmet, to cooking with organic food. But did you know that MANY detergents use a little-known chemical called optical brighteners?According to scientific research, "these can cause allergic reactions, are toxic to small fish and other aquatic life, and can pollute your waterways." Sure doesnt sounds like something I want to be touching my children.!

Seventh Generation makes their laundry detergents free of optical brighteners, and they’re also non-toxic . In addition, because Seventh Generation liquid laundry detergents are both hypo-allergenic and biodegradable, you can rest easy knowing you made a considerate choice for your family and the environment.

Check out the experiment photo below that shows regular laundry detergent and Seventh Generation laundry detergent.

When washed in a conventional laundry detergent that contains optical brighteners, clothes appear to glow under a black light. When you use Seventh Generation liquid laundry products, you won’t see the same glow on your clothing. I used this black light on clothes just washed in my home with a popular detergent brand and was shocked to see them glow, but after washing with Seventh Generation there was
no funky glowing chemicals that shown.

Want a non toxic, optical free quality detergent that does it's job just as good as its competitors?

Enter to win a set of Seventh Generation laundry products!

Leave a comment telling me your favorite tips for keeping your families healthy at home.

Giveaway Ends Friday January 28th at 4pm EST

Like a few of the other comments, I use vinegar for a lot of my cleaning. It's so much better for us. Plus I have found it can work better than even bleach for some cleaning chores.

Thats a pretty amazing photo of the shirts. I wonder what mine look like in black light... My best tip for keeping healthy is to disinfect door handles. Most people clean counter tops, floors, toilets, sinks, etc, but most also forget to clean the door handles - both sides.
